Phyllis was born 13 Jun 1933, the daughter of Norman Oehrl Rowe and Gladys Ethel Schermerhorn of Wilmington, Delaware. She had an older brother: Walter Elmer.
On August 21, 1954, Phyllis marrried Roscoe Hubert Van Dyke, son of Roscoe Fight and Amanda Ione 'Nan' Mitchell in San Diego, California. The two had met while attending Iowa State College (now University) at Ames. After a short honeymoon in the Pocono Mountains, they settled in Santa Ana, California and had two children: Carolyn S. and James Norman.
Phyllis died 18 Aug 2000.
