The stone reads "In loving memory of Elizabeth Ann Martz, daughter of Mary Cooke, born at Creve Cheshire, England March 11, 1867, died at Los Angeles Aug 2, 1893, Asleep in Jesus far from Thee Thy kindred and their graves may be, but there is still a blessed sleep from which none ever wakes to weep".
