September 3, 1913 – January 29, 1964
He was an American actor and film and television producer. Ladd found success in film in the 1940s and early 1950s, particularly in Westerns such as Shane (1953) and in films noir.
Ladd briefly served in the United States Army Air Forces First Motion Picture Unit. Ladd initially was classified 4-F unfit for military service because of stomach problems, but began his military service in January 1943.
His death, due to cerebral edema caused by an acute overdose of "alcohol and three other drugs", was ruled accidental.
Sue Carol
October 30, 1906 – February 4, 1982
Sue Carol, born Evelyn Jean Lederer, was an American actress and talent agent. Carol's film career lasted from the late 1920s into the 1930s; when it ended, she became a talent agent. The last of her three marriages was to one of her clients, Alan Ladd, from 1942 until his death in 1964.
